HV Controls Enhancement Project For Queensland Children’s Hospital A Success

ConsultJR acted as owner’s engineer for the installation and commissioning of IEC 61850-enabled ABB protection relays to the existing private HV network within Queensland Children’s Hospital. This was a challenging project for the contractor in a brownfield environment. CJR were responsible for ensuring the complete scope of works was correctly and fully implemented and tested by the contractor.

Scope of Works included:

  • Review of detailed design documentation
  • Development of factory and site acceptance test procedures
  • Attendance at contractor Factory Acceptance Testing
  • Attendance at contractor Site Acceptance Testing
  • Provision of technical guidance to asset owner (QCH)
  • Design of scope gap items.

    • 6-off Generator Incomers
    • 6-off Generator Outgoing Feeders
    • 4-off Bus-Ties
    • 6-off MSB Incomers

    • 19-off RMUs
  • IEC 61850 communications to SCADA (client-server) and between IEDs (peer-peer GOOSE)
